The initial method of ensuring safety

Rescuers must understand the potentially dangerous environment at the scene of the accident. The initial site of the accident (where rescuers are located) and the factors that caused the accident may also affect the safety of rescue workers.

There are some factors such as:

2. Actual hazards such as ground unevenness / charged pavement equipment

4 , other emergency vehicles / personnel

Because of these factors, the rescue team should ensure that it takes a gradual approach to control the situation, which also allows decisions such as parking location.

When you arrive on the scene, keep these key points in mind:

1 , vehicle location

In order to protect on-site personnel and consider the use of rescue vehicles, this is often referred to as "avoid" location and can be incorporated into local processes. The location of the rescue vehicle is very important: the rescue vehicle should be close enough to the accident zone to ensure that the equipment is readily available, but it must not be too close to prevent access to the accident site. Remember that other emergency vehicles also need to enter, such as nursing staff's vehicles.

Get off the "safe side", this side refers to dangerous factors such as moving away from the vehicle.

3 , other resources

By quickly assessing the site, field commanders must decide what other resources are needed and make arrangements as soon as possible.

Crucially, when rescue workers arrive at the site, because they are a team (or individual), passers-by, the public or others must not interfere with their work. However, it should be remembered that important information related to safety or wounded can be collected from people who have arrived on the scene.

! After all-round investigations have been made and all risk factors have been identified and notified, rescue work can only be carried out.

! The dynamic, safety-impacting problems at the scene of the rescue are constantly changing and therefore require continuous assessment.
