Three people were killed and eight people were injured on the spot. Seven of them were seriously injured. In the process of implementing the rescue, five people have died. The economic loss caused by the accident amounted to 1.3 million yuan.

After the accident, engineers and technicians organized in the factory conducted on-site investigations. After the metallographic analysis of the material of the equipment, the analysis of the factors such as the thickness measurement of the pipe wall and the medium, it is determined that the accident occurred and the abnormal chemical corrosion of the pipe in the pipe, the gas flushing, the partial thinning of the pipe, and the stress concentration. As a result, the T-shaped opening of the heat exchanger in the section of the section could not withstand the current process and pressure indicators, causing a sudden explosion.

At that time, the Hebei Provincial Chemical Industry Department organized a technical seminar held by experts from all sides. It was considered that the system changed the presence of oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, organic sulfur and water vapor in front of the furnace, which made it easy to produce sulfuric acid in the gas pipeline. The experts further analyzed the reasons for the high sulfur content of the raw coal used in the plant. It is difficult for the semi-desorption system to effectively remove organic sulfur. After the organic sulfur enters the shift furnace, it turns into inorganic sulfur, which causes the system to raise hydrogen sulfide. The hydrogen sulfide in the solution is dissolved in water, and is oxidized to form sulfur with sulfate and further oxidized to sulfate. The higher the temperature, the higher the total sulfur in the system, the more sulfate is formed and the more severe the system corrosion.
