Foam aluminum alloy material

[China Aluminum] An expert of the Russian Institute of Light Alloys has developed a foam aluminum alloy material that is comparable in strength to beech wood and foamed concrete, and its light weight can be compared with wood panels. The foamed aluminum alloy material is obtained by mixing an oxidized aluminum alloy powder with a substance that is separated during heating and gasification. Due to different alloys contained in aluminum, different heating procedures, and different gasification powders obtained when new materials are synthesized, the later obtained foamed aluminum alloys have different densities, and the pores of the foams are also very small. Foam aluminum alloy material has a certain sound insulation and thermal insulation, non-toxic and will not burn. The material can be sawed and milled, and can be screwed onto it. This new material, which is light, strong and not afraid of fire, can be used for the veneering of elevator doors, the laying of trains and the ground of subway cars.
