Classification of flooring and their advantages and disadvantages

There are many types of flooring on the market, but according to a generally recognized point of view, they can be roughly divided into solid wood flooring, multilayer solid wood composite flooring, three-layer solid wood composite flooring, laminate flooring, bamboo wood flooring and cork flooring. The following is an introduction to the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of these types of floors.

1. Solid wood flooring

Solid wood flooring is a floor decoration material formed by drying and processing wood. It has the characteristics of natural patterns, comfortable feet, and safe use. It is an ideal material for floor decoration such as bedrooms, living rooms, and books. The decorative style of solid wood is back to basics, and the texture is natural.

The advantages of solid wood flooring are:

1. Sound insulation. The solid wood floor material is harder, the dense wood fiber structure, the thermal conductivity is low, and the effect of blocking sound and heat is better than cement, ceramic tile and steel.

2. Adjust humidity. The characteristics of the wood of solid wood flooring are that in a dry climate, moisture is released inside the wood; in a humid climate, the wood will absorb moisture in the air. Wood floors absorb and release moisture to adjust the air humidity in the room to the most comfortable level for the human body.

3. Warm in winter and cool in summer. In winter, people walk on the wooden floor without feeling cold; in summer, the room temperature of solid wood floor is 2°C~3°C lower than the room temperature of tiled rooms.

4. Lvjue is harmless. The solid wood floor material is taken from the virgin forest and is painted with non-volatile wear-resistant paint. From the material to the paint surface, it is green and harmless.

5. Gorgeous and noble, solid wood flooring is taken from high-end hardwood materials, with beautiful wood grain on the surface and elegant and noble decoration. It is the first choice for middle and high-end income families.

6. Durable.

Disadvantages of solid wood flooring:

1. Difficult to maintain: solid wood flooring has higher requirements for paving. Once the paving is not good, it will cause a series of problems. If the indoor environment is too humid or dry, the solid wood floor is easy to arch, warp or deform. After the pavement is finished, waxing and oiling are often required.

2. The price is high: solid wood flooring has always been kept at a higher price, and families with tight budgets have to weigh in.

3. Poor stability: If the indoor environment is too humid or dry, the solid wood floor is easy to arch, warp or deform.

4. Low cost performance: The market competitiveness of solid wood flooring is not as good as that of other types of wood flooring, especially in terms of stability and abrasion resistance.

5. Fake the real: For ordinary consumers, it is impossible to identify the authenticity of wood. Processed floors are even more difficult for consumers to identify wood species. Therefore, some illegal merchants use cheaper wood species to pretend to be precious wood species in order to make huge profits, such as "Grey Mangosteen" as "teak".

2. Real composite floor

Parquet can be divided into three-layer parquet and multi-layer parquet.

1. Three-layer solid composite floor

The three-layer solid wood composite floor is made of three layers of solid wood veneers. The surface layer is high-quality hardwood specification slat panel or whole wood board; the core layer is composed of ordinary soft and miscellaneous specification wood slats; the bottom layer is peeling Single board, three-layer structure is laminated with glue. The new structure of solid wood layer, solid wood keel layer and balance layer introduced by the Dekor three-layer solid wood and future home floor three-layer solid wood not only avoids the trouble of paving the keel, but also makes the floor more stable.

Three-layer solid wood composite flooring combines the advantages of solid wood flooring and composite flooring, and at the same time overcomes the shortcomings of solid wood flooring, such as easy deformation, cracking, scratches, hard feet, poor warmth, and unnatural colors. The three-layer solid wood composite floor is completely different from the composite floor, and also different from the traditional multi-layer solid wood composite floor. It represents the current trend of international flooring.

2. Multilayer solid wood composite floor

Multi-layer solid wood composite flooring is made of multi-layer plywood as the base material, and the specification hardwood veneer or veneer as the panel. The surface layer of the solid wood composite floor is made of high-quality precious wood, which not only retains the beautiful wood grain and natural characteristics of the solid wood floor, but also greatly saves the resources of high-quality precious wood. The surface is mostly coated with more than five layers of high-quality UV coatings, which not only has ideal hardness, abrasion resistance, and scratch resistance, but is also flame-retardant and smooth, which is easy to clean. The core layer is mostly made of fast-growing wood that can be felled in turn, and cheap small diameter materials, various hard and soft miscellaneous materials and other materials from a wide range of sources can also be used, and the yield rate is high, and the cost is greatly reduced. Its elasticity and warmth retention are no less than solid wood flooring. Because of its various advantages of solid wood flooring, it discards the deficiencies of laminate flooring and saves a lot of high-quality precious wood resources.

Three, laminate flooring

Laminate flooring is generally composed of four layers of materials, namely wear-resistant layer, decorative layer, high-density substrate layer, balance (moisture-proof) layer. Qualified laminate flooring is impregnated with one or more layers of thermosetting amino resin. Covered on the surface of high-density boards and other substrates, the back Burma plus a balanced moisture-proof layer, the front plus a decorative layer and a wear-resistant layer are formed by hot pressing.

The structure of laminate flooring

The first layer: wear layer. It is mainly composed of Al2O3 (aluminum oxide), which has strong wear resistance and hardness. Some laminate flooring composed of melamine cannot meet the requirements of the standard.

The second decoration layer. It is a layer of paper impregnated with dense resin resin on which is printed wood or other patterns imitating precious tree species.

The third layer: the grassroots. It is a medium density or high density laminate. After high temperature and pressure treatment, it has certain moisture-proof and flame-retardant properties. The basic material is wood fiber.

The fourth layer: balance layer. It is a one-layer kraft paper, with a certain strength and thickness, and impregnated with resin to prevent moisture and floor deformation.
