On June 30, 2015, Yokogawa will launch an on-line film thickness gauge "WEBFREX NV" (Figure) to measure film and sheet thickness. Suitable for secondary battery separator, functional material sheet, optical film, metal foil, plastic sheet for packaging and construction material sheets.
The new product is the follow-up model of the current model "WEBFREX3", which is characterized by the reinforcement of the "operator station" responsible for operation and monitoring functions. The operator station uses a personal computer with higher performance than the current model, and data services can be provided by adding optional software. Because there is no need for a dedicated server for data servers, the cost of acquisition and maintenance can be reduced and space can be saved.
The operator station can store long-term thickness distribution chart (curve) data and it is easy to confirm product quality after delivery. By using the display software, time series data can be displayed in a 3D image, and curve data at a specified position can be viewed with a cursor to easily determine the analysis position. The personal computer used was a special model made by Dell of the United States. Compared with the same model on the market, the service period is about 2 times longer and it can be maintained for a long time. Without frequent updates of the OS, the number of additions and changes to the model at the time of failure can be reduced.
In the sensor product line, the general-purpose beta-ray method, the X-ray method with high sensitivity to metal, the infrared method without using radiation, and the multi-layer film thickness meter capable of simultaneously detecting each layer of the multilayer film are readily available. The information of multiple production lines can be integrated and managed in a unified manner.
