The State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Photovoltaic Science and Technology announced that, after testing by a third-party authority, the photoelectric conversion rate of a large-area P-type polysilicon solar cell with 156×156mm2 independently researched and developed reached 21.25%, setting a new world record.
In order to prepare a large-scale P-type polycrystalline silicon solar cell for record, Trina Solar integrated its advanced battery backside passivation and surface treatment technology on a high-quality polysilicon substrate. The photoelectric conversion rate of 21.25% of the battery was confirmed by the Fraunhofer ISE test calibration laboratory of the German photovoltaic testing agency. This figure broke the world record of 20.76% of such solar cells created by Trina Solar in November last year.
