Haiyi Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences: Protecting China's oceans with the most reliable buoys

"FZF4-1" stands alone in the vast sea of South China. The "big guy" with a diameter of up to 10 meters and shaped like a UFO is loyal to duty day after day.

After nearly 40 years of polishing, the fourth generation of marine environmental monitoring buoy "FZF4-1" developed by the Institute of Marine Instrumentation of Shandong Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Haiyi Institute) can ensure long-term, continuous and all-weather work. It regularly measures and reports more than 20 hydrometeorological elements such as current, sea temperature, tidal level, wind speed and air pressure, and acts as a “protective god” for human marine activities.

The efforts of people from generation to generation in Haiyi have not been in vain. Whether in the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea, the South China Sea, the Diaoyu Islands, or even the Arctic, more than 100 sets of 10 m large buoys that are currently deployed on the coast of China are almost all developed by the Institute. How does a place play the energy of the "national team"? How is this done?

"Substitute" wins the "world level"

For seafarers, real-time wave forecasts are especially important. Knowing the big winds and waves, you can avoid it when you are sailing; knowing the current flow, you can go along with it to save navigation time and energy consumption; knowing the abnormal rise of the tide level, you can prepare for emergencies in time.

What is unknown is that the Haiyi Institute's buoys provide nearly 30,000 sets of meteorological and hydrological data to the State Oceanic Administration and the China Meteorological Administration every day, providing irreplaceable real-time data for China's marine disaster warning and forecasting.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games sailing competition attracted the bidding of “buzzards” at home and abroad. At that time, it represented the world-class Norwegian buoy in the field and finally won the bid, but the buoy right was broken twice in half a year. In desperation, the Olympic Sailing Commission immediately decided to switch to the buoys independently developed by China, and the buoys of the Haiyi Institute stood out. "In the summer of 2007, we put the buoys on, until the end of the Olympic Sailing in 2008, the equipment has been running normally, the quality is very good, and the task is completed smoothly." Chen Shizhe, a researcher at Haiyi Institute, told the reporter.

Temporary “substitute” played, but it became a task of “world level”, which is the true level of Haiyi.

From the end of the 1970s to the present, Haiyi, under the leadership of experts such as Wang Jingtian, Cao Hengyong and Li Min, who are engaged in the study of marine data buoys, have taken up their own marine monitoring technology and marine monitoring equipment from scratch. The road to research and development. In 1989, China's first official large-scale marine buoy developed by the team of Haiyi was still operating in the North Sea.

Covering 90% of the domestic market share

Huge waves, hurricanes, salt spray, corrosion, moisture, and biological attachment, one-third of the time must be spent in the wind and waves of the sea... This is the research environment of the Haiyi Institute's buoy development team.

Wang Juncheng, former dean of the Shandong Academy of Sciences and former director of the Haiyi Institute, still remembers: Once, the buoy team had to board the buoys to work. At that time, the waves were as high as 2 meters. They overcame extreme dizziness and swayed, and they insisted on working. 4 hours, however, the huge winds prevented them from going back to the ship from the buoy through the ramp. As a last resort, the captain can only ask everyone to put on the lifebuoy and jump into the sea, then drag them to the boat with a rope...

At a meeting in 1992, Haiyi received news that the relevant state departments were not satisfied with the ship's meteorological instrument at that time. The team members represented by Cui Weihe aimed at the international advanced level at that time and finally developed the first generation of products and finalized them. After continuous improvement and improvement by Wang Dongming and his colleagues, in 1998, the relevant departments were included in the qualified suppliers and unified procurement. At present, the ship meteorological instruments of large-scale ship equipment of the relevant departments of our country are all "made by Haiyi."

With such persistence and tenacity, Haiyi has undertaken 24 national 863 projects for more than ten years, undertaken 13 international cooperation projects, 11 large projects with more than 10 million, and 3 large projects with more than 30 million. In the interview, the reporter constantly sought the answers to these three questions. “Why can the Haiyi Institute develop the first large buoy for China's operational operation? Why does the product account for more than 90% of the domestic market? Why is it that the relevant departments in China are large? Ship weather instrument for ship equipment?"

“The competitive advantages we have compared with other research institutes related to the sea are: first, application research capabilities, second, engineering realization capabilities, and third, technical service capabilities. We will be responsible for the technology and equipment that we are launching, even at no cost. Zhang Tao, director of the Haiyi Institute, believes that since the beginning of the topic, Haiyi has been based on national needs and market needs. During the development process, it has repeatedly sought the opinions of users, continuously optimized the design, and finally formed the stereotyped equipment.

“Using the most reliable buoy to protect China’s oceans,” said Zhang Tao, “As a national research institution, we are responsible for providing the means and reliable equipment support for the development of national marine monitoring technology, which means we must continue to innovate to maintain Only with advanced level can we have a status."

Cuplock Scaffolding

Cuplock Scaffolding

Cup-lock scaffolding is basically composed of Standards for vertical and ledgers for horizontal. While standards available in 9 regular sizes with cup joints welded at 0.5m intervals. The bottom cups are formed from high quality steel while the mobile top cups are malleable casting to provide the necessary hardiness on-site

Here comes our 5 types of Scaffolding systems:

- Cup lock Scaffolding(C-Lock Scaffolding)

- Ring lock Scaffolding

-Kwistage Scaffolding

-H-frame Scaffolding

-ID15 Scaffolding Tower, this type Scaffolding is the most widely used in construction, such like bridge.

-Whole Aluminum Scaffolding
