China's electricity consumption in the first half of the year increased by 5.5% year-on-year

China Electricity Council today released the "National Electricity Supply and Demand Situation and Annual Analysis and Forecast Report for the First Half of 2012". The "Report" pointed out that in the first half of the year, the country's electricity supply and demand were generally balanced and the electricity was slightly rich. The electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 5.5% year-on-year, and the growth rate dropped a lot. The overall supply of coal was balanced, and the operation of thermal power enterprises was still difficult. According to the "Report", the China New Network Energy Channel learned that in the first half of the year, due to the slowdown in demand for electricity, the better water and electricity generation, and the better protection of coal, the overall balance of power supply and demand in the country is slightly rich. The supply and demand situation has improved significantly over the same period of the previous year. The power supply capacity of the northeast and northwest regions has exceeded 10 million kilowatts. The southern power grid region has a certain gap in the first quarter, with a maximum peak load of 6.53 million kilowatts. In the first half of the year, the national total electricity consumption was 2.38 trillion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, and the growth rate dropped by 6.7 percentage points over the same period of the previous year. In terms of quarterly, the electricity consumption of the whole society in the first and second quarters increased by 6.8% and 4.3% respectively, mainly due to the significant decline in economic growth and climate impact. The growth rate of electricity consumption in the second quarter dropped significantly. In terms of monthly, the electricity consumption in March was 416 billion kWh, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year. It was the largest in the first half of the year and the highest growth rate in the first half of the month (the growth rate in January and February was 1-2 months). Accumulated growth rate considerations; April growth rate fell to 3.7%, the lowest monthly growth rate of electricity consumption since June 2009; growth rate rebounded in May, but fell to 4.3% in June, down from May 1.0 percentage point. In the first half of the year, the power supply situation also showed: power supply capacity continued to increase, thermal power installed capacity increased by a large margin; cross-regional cross-province power transmission increased rapidly, and the cumulative external power supply in Central China and the Three Gorges achieved positive growth in the first half of the year; The overall supply was stable, and the coal price in the sewerage market dropped more. However, the cumulative coal price of power generation enterprises still increased year-on-year; the investment in electric power increased at a low speed, and the investment in wind power, thermal power and nuclear power decreased compared with the same period of the previous year. In the "Report", China Electricity Council also made predictions on the national power supply and demand situation in the second half of the year. Overall, it is more likely that the economic growth rate will stabilize and rebound in the second half of the year. Correspondingly, the demand for electricity consumption will also rebound in the second half of the year, but the growth rate has dropped from 2011. It is estimated that the national electricity consumption in the second half of the year will be 2.60-2.65 trillion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 6%-8%. It is estimated that the national total electricity consumption for the whole year is 4.98 - 5.03 trillion kWh, an increase of 6%-7%. In terms of supply, it is estimated that the newly installed capacity will be about 86 million kilowatts, of which hydropower will increase by about 20 million kilowatts, and the thermal power will be reduced to about 50 million kilowatts. At the end of the year, the installed capacity of full-scale power generation will reach 1.14 billion kilowatts. It is expected that during the peak summer season, the national power supply and demand will be balanced overall. There is still a certain power gap in the peak hours of power consumption in North China, East China and South China, but the pressure to ensure the balance of power supply and demand is greatly reduced compared with the previous year. It is estimated that the utilization hours of power generation equipment will be 4550-4650 hours and the utilization hours of thermal power equipment will be 5100-5200 hours, which is lower than that in 2011.
