2018 is a year of historic change in the diamond industry.
First, in July, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC, hereinafter referred to as the FTC) revised the definition of the 62-year-old diamond. In 1956, the FTC defined diamonds as "a natural mineral, mainly formed by pure carbon crystallized in equidistant systems." The FTC used this definition for the first time, when there was only one diamond product circulating on the market. - Natural diamonds excavated from the pit, but the amount of diamonds is constantly increasing. The definition of diamonds in the FTC removes the word "natural".
Secondly, 2018 is also a relatively active year for all major diamond producers in China.
In August, Zhengzhou Huajing's subsidiary company Henan Huaxin Jewelry Testing Center won the "Qualification Certificate for Inspection and Testing Organizations".
In September, the cyclone of Henan Yellow River conquered the bottleneck of rapid growth of 2~3 carats of diamonds.
At this year's Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair in September, Henan Power Diamonds exhibited a number of amazing diamond jewellery products, including 3 carats of rough diamonds.
Shandong Liaocheng Junrui has been involved in the carat-class cultivating diamond field since 2016. In the same year, it invested heavily in the establishment of a “Cala-grade cultivating diamond†R&D laboratory, specializing in the development of single-particle 8mm colorless and colored diamonds.
Then, 130-year-old diamond giant De Beers launched the Lightbox fashion jewellery collection. In October, it began selling diamonds on the official website. The series of diamonds is designed to provide consumers with fun, affordable, and jewellery that they wear every day.
Finally, around the Christmas season, laboratory diamonds will appear in the window of several major US retailers. JC Penny, Macy's and JTV said they are optimistic about the potential of this type of diamond, and believe that the sales of laboratory diamonds will rise strongly.
