The researchers first broke the birch pulp into fine fibers and built a hard fiber network, infiltrating the spider silk fibroin binder into it, and finally made the material.
At the same time, the researchers said that the spider silk used in the research was not extracted from the spider web, but artificial spider silk. The chemical properties of the silk protein molecules in the spider web were similar to the silk protein molecules in the spider web.
Currently, the team is working on the development of new composite materials, such as implantable items and impact-resistant objects.
