In recent years, hydrocyclones have been widely used in mine development, mainly for grading and concentrating minerals; when hydrocyclones are classified, there may be irregular grading, and the cause of grading may be blocked. As a result, it needs to be checked and maintained before it can be used normally.
The hydrocyclone is suitable for processing finer materials with a particle size of between 0.25 and 0.01 mm. Generally, when the feed tube of the hydrocyclone has debris or crusting, blockage may occur and the classification may not proceed normally. If only a part of the feed pipe of the hydrocyclone is blocked, the feed cannot flow directly from the hydrocyclone nozzle, and the classification cannot be performed. If the overflow pipe of the hydrocyclone is partially blocked, then a normal swirl will not form in the hydrocyclone, and most of the slurry will be ejected from the nozzle, and the classification effect will be reduced.
When the hydrocyclone is abnormal, it is necessary to check and maintain it in time so that the best classification effect can be achieved.
Check method for whether the hydrocyclone is blocked:
1. If there is no slurry outflow from the overflow pipe and the bottom pipe of the hydrocyclone, the feed pipe is completely blocked.
2. If the overflow pipe of the hydrocyclone has only a small slurry flowing out, or the overflow pipe has no slurry flowing out, and the underflow flows straight out, the feed pipe is partially blocked.
3. If there is no slurry outflow in the bottom of the hydrocyclone, the flow of the overflow pipe is normal, and the nozzle is clogged.
4. If the overflow of the hydrocyclone is small, and the underflow is large, and the underflow occurs from the middle to the surroundings, the overflow pipe is partially blocked.
