Japan's building materials prices reversed after China's earthquake

After the earthquake, the supply and demand of the Japanese building materials market reversed. As Japanese housing developers continue to explore the Chinese market, the demand for Chinese building materials is also increasing. "Nihon Keizai Shimbun" reported on a case in which Japan's Daiwa Construction Co., Ltd.'s logistics company invested billions of yen in the establishment of its China National Building Material Logistics Corporation in Shanghai. It can be seen initially that the Japanese real estate construction companies have emerged in overseas construction materials. In terms of the establishment of this new company alone, this is the first time that the group has participated in overseas market related to the building materials industry.

Affected by the large-scale earthquake disaster, Japan's domestic building materials prices have risen significantly. Japanese home builders will increase their demand for lower-cost Chinese building materials. Taking cement as an example, according to statistics, by the end of 2010, the output of 18 cement companies in Japan was 61.477 million tons. According to the 2009 cement demand increase in Sichuan after the start of reconstruction, the cement supply gap in Japan will be 10 million tons this year and next year. Around, it can be predicted that the cement supply-demand curve of Japan will change to a situation where supply exceeds demand after the disaster, and the prices will be reversed accordingly.

At present, the transportation of building materials by Japanese building material manufacturers including Dahe Housing Construction in China mainly depends on local logistics companies. Dahe Logistics aims at the rapidly expanding logistics needs in the future and uses its own advantages to actively participate in China's domestic building materials logistics business. As Japanese residential builders continue to participate in the development of Chinese real estate, the eyes of building material manufacturers have also shifted from Japan to the Chinese market.
