The team led by John-David Rocha and Reginald Rogers, two scientists at the Rochester Institute of Technology, recently developed a high-quality single-walled carbon nanotube—a microflake made of graphene crimped. It is understood that it can connect carbon atoms in a honeycomb structure and its thickness is as thin as one atom.
These nanotubes will then be sorted according to whether they are semiconducting materials or metallic materials. The semiconductor tube will be incorporated into the carbon-like sheet in an orderly manner - used to filter contaminated water. Since carbon nanotubes are water-repellent, there are no water molecules trapped on the material, and only those organic contaminants will adhere to it.
Once the flakes appear, simply put them in the microwave for 5 minutes and you can put them back into use. During the microwave process, contaminants can evaporate.
