Paris, July 8: A joint study by the National Research Center of France and the Imperial College in London and the UK found that a variation of the gene called PCSK1 in the human body will increase the risk of obesity.
The French National Research Center issued a communique on the 8th, saying that PCSK1 can produce a special type of enzyme that activates insulin, glucagon, and the full-fledged mebragrelin that control appetite in the human body, but once The PCSK1 mutation, which results in the structure of this enzyme, will also change, resulting in loss of normal function. Research conducted by scientists targeting some residents of France, Switzerland, and Denmark shows that PCSK1 mutations can lead to significant increases in body mass.
Professor Philip Frogeleer, the head of the study, said that PCSK1 is not the only gene associated with obesity. Previously, scientists have discovered other obesity genes. By the end of this year, scientists are expected to come up with a list of "obesity genes" that explain overweight from a genetic perspective.
For example, Flogalle said that if a child grows too fast, it is necessary for the doctor to understand whether this phenomenon is related to genetic mutations before intervention can be effectively and timely. If it is not related to the gene, then the best treatment will be hormone therapy.
