Polyurethane foam insulation pipes are a modern, multi-functional material that combines waterproofing, thermal insulation, and heat preservation. To ensure optimal results during installation, the following precautions should be taken:
1. The trench for the polyurethane insulation pipe must be properly flattened, ensuring a dry base with a fine sand cushion of about 200mm in thickness. This helps prevent damage from hard objects and ensures proper filling around the pipe for sufficient friction.
2. For one-time compensation direct burial pipelines, preheating is essential according to design specifications. The temperature must be maintained at the required level during preheating, and the one-time compensator should not cool down before welding or backfilling is completed.
3. After installation, a hydraulic pressure test at 1.5 times the working pressure is necessary. Once the test is passed, interface foaming treatment should be conducted. This involves cleaning the surface of the steel pipe joint, removing any oil, impurities, and protective layers from both ends, and ensuring the ambient temperature is above 10°C during foaming.
The structural mechanism of polyurethane foam insulation pipes includes several key components:
1. **Anti-Corrosion Layer**: Protects the outer steel pipe from corrosion, extending its lifespan.
2. **External Protective Steel Pipe**: Shields the insulation layer from groundwater and supports the working pipe while withstanding external loads.
3. **Polyurethane Foam Layer**: Maintains the temperature of the medium and keeps the outer casing at a normal temperature.
4. **Working Steel Pipe**: Ensures the smooth flow of the transported medium.
5. **Barrier and Reflective Layer**: Prevents organic foam from entering the inorganic high-temperature resistant layer and reflects some of the heat.
6. **Inorganic Hard Insulation Layer**: Resists high temperatures and prevents carbonization of the foam.
7. **Friction-Reducing Layer**: Allows the working steel pipe to expand and contract freely without resistance.
