World's lightest glass-based thin film photovoltaic module

Recently, at the new product (technical) appraisal meeting organized by the Hebei Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Service Center, a polymer backplane solar cell module independently developed by Tianwei Film Company, a subsidiary of Baoding Tianwei Baowei (600550) Electric Co., Ltd. The lightweight technology passed the identification. The technology can ensure that the silicon thin film module can reduce the weight to 9.79 kg/m2 under the premise of meeting the requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard, making this module the lightest glass-based thin film photovoltaic module in the world.

It is understood that in this technology research and development, Tianwei Film Company adopts a new process to improve the insulation performance of lightweight silicon thin film modules under high temperature and high humidity conditions. At the same time, we have developed a new type of mounting method that is compatible with lightweight silicon thin-film modules to meet the IEC standard 2400Pa mechanical load requirements, and the installation is easier and faster.
