Professor Chen Weihua, associate professor of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Zhengzhou University, led the task force and took the lead in the preparation of high-performance sulphide supercapacitor electrode materials by using partial ion replacement methods. Related results were published in the magazine "Material Chemistry".
Compared with traditional capacitors, supercapacitors have many advantages, such as fast charge and discharge rates, long cycle life, high energy conversion efficiency, stable operation, small size, and no pollution.
The researchers first synthesized three-dimensional hierarchical bird nested nickel disulfide nickel and nickel sulfide electrode materials using a nested nanoribbon as the basic constituent unit, and then prepared three nickel nickel disulfide and eight sulfides with a similar morphology to the parent material. Nine cobalt and nickel sulfide and nickel selenide composite electrode materials. During this process, the research team successfully controlled the composition of the materials and achieved genetic inheritance.
Tests have shown that the electrochemical performance of the electrode material before and after ion replacement is greatly improved, such as rate performance and specific charge-discharge capacity. At the same time, the three materials still have very sharp redox peaks at large scan rates, which means that such materials have an excellent electrochemical response. The galvanostatic charge-discharge test shows that all electrode materials have high specific capacity and good cycle stability.
