Factors affecting plasterboard

The so-called gypsum board is made of building gypsum as the main raw material, mixed with appropriate amount of additives and fiber as the core of the board, and made of special board paper as the protective surface. The processed sheet is a kind of building materials commonly used in the decoration industry. In particular, it is used in the installation process of the ceiling, and the manufacturers of paper gypsum board on the market are in various forms, and their respective strengths are different. What details should consumers pay attention to during the purchase process? The key to this is to first understand the factors that affect the quality of the plasterboard.

1. Differences in facial tissue:

The high quality gypsum board is light and thin, with high strength, smooth surface, no stains, long fiber and good toughness. Inferior facial paper can sometimes see oil spots on the surface of gypsum board, which is easy to be brittle. Because more than 70% of the strength of the plasterboard comes from the paper, paper is a key factor in ensuring the strength of the plasterboard.

2. Differences in the selection of gypsum cores:

High-quality gypsum board uses high-purity gypsum as the core material, while inferior gypsum board lacks control of the purity of the raw materials. The gypsum mine with low purity contains a lot of harmful substances, which will greatly affect the gypsum board. Performance, and environmental performance is also relatively low.

3, paper bonding:

Use a paper cutter to draw a 45-degree "fork" on the surface of the plasterboard, and then uncover the paper at the intersection. It can be found that the paper of the high-quality plasterboard is still firmly bonded to the plaster core. The core is not exposed; the paper of inferior gypsum board can tear most or even all of the paper, and the gypsum core is completely exposed.

4. Longitudinal and transverse fracture strength:

Since the strength of the gypsum board mostly comes from the paper surface, and the paper surface has the direction of fiber distribution, the lateral and longitudinal rupture strength of the gypsum board is different. The longitudinal/transverse breaking load of the plasterboard must meet the requirements of the national standard GB/T9775-1999.
