Britain's first wave power plant can replace wind energy in the future

According to British media reports, the UK's first wave power plant is expected to begin to provide electricity in 2018. The Wave Energy Farm is located in Cornwall, England, and is named “Ceto 6”, named after the Greek god of Poseidon.

The Ceto 6 differs from other wave energy devices in that it operates primarily under water and does not see equipment on the coast, thus avoiding storm attacks. If power generation begins normally in 2018, Ceto 6 will represent the UK's first wave farm.

The UK's wave energy farm is scheduled to provide 1 MW of electricity in 2018 for 400 households to use for one year. If the 14-wave power plant to be added later is put into operation, by 2020, the wave energy will reach 15 MW. Electricity for one year of enough 6,000 families.

Wave power generation may be an effective alternative to wind power. In view of the fact that wave energy is more predictive than wind power, at the same time, the increase in winter wave energy in the UK can meet the peak demand. The British government has been actively supporting wave energy and tidal energy, suffering from lack of funds, and the wave power generation project has not been formally implemented. According to the British government, wave energy generation can solve 20% of the UK's electricity demand.
