The development of the mold industry has significantly advanced, which in turn has enhanced the technology used in fastener molds. As an essential component of industrial manufacturing, fastener molds must meet high-quality standards. With continuous technological progress, the demand for more sophisticated and efficient fastener mold solutions is growing steadily.
As China's economy moves into a more stable phase, the industrial structure is being continuously optimized, and the quality expectations for industrial products are rising. This trend demands higher-performance fastener molds. It is anticipated that China’s fastener mold industry will increasingly focus on high-end development to meet these evolving needs.
In recent years, China’s mold industry has experienced rapid growth, with significant improvements in the standardization, specialization, and commercialization of mold components. However, there remains a gap in the market for high-tech, high-performance fastener molds that offer superior quality, ease of replacement, and advanced design. Because of this, a considerable number of fastener molds are still imported from abroad annually.
Domestic manufacturers need to make breakthroughs in technical standards, innovation, and product quality to reduce reliance on foreign imports. Countries with well-established industrial systems place great emphasis on fastener development, which is closely tied to standardized mold production. However, due to the late start in mold standardization in China, the current fastener mold industry is characterized by limited variety, small-scale production, inefficient distribution, and a predominance of mid-to-low-grade products.
High-end fastener molds produced by foreign companies remain costly, limiting their widespread adoption. For Chinese fastener mold enterprises, the industry is highly fragmented, with too many small factories operating in isolation, leading to inconsistent product quality. The market is also marked by intense and disorderly competition.
According to the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" for the mold industry, it was recommended that fastener molds should expand their range, improve precision, and achieve interchangeability. Even with the goals set in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan," China’s fastener mold industry still lags behind its international counterparts. Many fastener mold types that have been widely used abroad are still not available domestically. Currently, medium- to high-grade fasteners are mostly imported, while low-performance, less stable alternatives are used in applications where mold performance requirements are not as strict.
