Dutch Nedstack Company Provides World's Largest Hydrogen Fuel Cell for Solvay Devices

The Dutch Nedstack Company announced on July 12, 2011 that it will provide the world's largest hydrogen fuel cell power generation facility for Solvay's plant in Antwerp, which can generate 1MW. This is the first application of a PEM hydrogen fuel cell to a large-scale industrial device.

The ** production plant requires a lot of electricity, Nedstack's fuel cell can use the hydrogen produced as a byproduct in the production of **, and generate 20% of the total power required by the device. In addition, heat energy and water generated by the fuel cell can be reused in the production process. In many ways, Nedstack's power generation facilities help the industry comply with climate change and energy conservation goals.

The PEM power generation facility provided by Nedstack to Solvay's facility has 12,600 fuel cells, which together add up to 1MW of power and 1MW of thermal energy. The fuel cell has a long service life and requires little maintenance. The PEM power plant can be monitored remotely.

Previously, Nedstack built a 70 KW verification model facility for Akzo Nobel in Delfzijl, which has 1,000 fuel cell power generation facilities and has been operating for 25,000 hours as of June 2011.
