New Energy Development Trend

New Energy Development Trend

With the development of economy, advancement of society, improvement of technology, and the growing shortage of energy for the development of human society, people’s efforts in detecting and researching new energy are increasing, and some renewable energy utilization technologies have achieved great progress. The development has formed a certain scale in all parts of the world. At present, the utilization technologies of biomass energy, solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric power, and geothermal energy have been applied. So, what do we usually refer to as new energy? What is the current trend of development?

New energy is also called unconventional energy. It refers to various energy forms other than traditional energy sources. Refers to the energy that has just begun to develop or is being actively researched and yet to be promoted. Various forms of new energy are directly or indirectly from the sun or heat generated inside the earth (taken from Baidu Encyclopedia). Including solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy, nuclear fusion energy, water energy and ocean energy, and energy generated from biofuels and hydrogen derived from renewable energy sources. It can also be said that new energy includes a variety of renewable energy and nuclear energy. Compared with traditional energy sources, new energy generally has the characteristics of less pollution and large reserves, which is of great significance in solving the serious environmental pollution problems and the exhaustion of resources (especially fossil energy) in the world today. At the same time, because many new energy sources are evenly distributed, it is also of great significance to resolve the energy-induced war.

Nowadays, the development of new energy is becoming more and more rapid. More and more new energy sources are beginning to be used in daily life and production. The development of the following types of energy sources is the fastest:

Wind energy

Wind energy refers to the kinetic energy generated by the massive air flow on the surface of the Earth. One can use windmills to convert the kinetic energy of the wind into a rotating action to propel a generator to produce electricity by transmitting the rotational power of the rotor (made of aerodynamically propelled blades) to a generator through a propeller shaft.

As the most mature and most advanced new energy source with large-scale development and commercialization, wind power has developed explosively in China in recent years, and the annual growth rate of installed capacity is above 100%. It is believed that investors who are sensitive to smell will undoubtedly notice this. In the boom of new energy investment, wind power is one of the lowest types of power generation at present. According to reports, the current wind power cost per degree is about 0.4-0.6 yuan, and there is still a large room for decline.

nuclear power

Everything in the world is made up of atoms. The atoms are made up of nuclei and the electrons around them. Both the fusion of light nuclei and the splitting of heavy nuclei can release energy. They are called nuclear fusion energy and nuclear fission energy, respectively, and are called nuclear energy for short. As global climate change becomes more and more obvious, nuclear power, as a mature, safe and efficient clean energy, has also been re-emphasized by countries. China has also started construction of a number of nuclear power construction projects in Fuqing, Fujian, Yangjiang, Guangdong, Fangjiashan, Zhejiang, and Sanmen, Zhejiang. In addition, another batch of nuclear power plants or units will start construction within the year. The National Energy Administration is currently studying the adjustment of the mid- and long-term development plans for nuclear power. It is expected that the installed capacity of nuclear power will reach 75 million kilowatts by 2020, and the proportion of the country’s installed capacity of electric power will increase from the current 2% to about 5%.

Solar energy

Solar energy, generally refers to the radiant energy of sunlight, and is generally used for power generation in modern times. The use of solar energy has two types: passive use (photothermal conversion) and photoelectric conversion. Solar power is an emerging renewable energy source. Solar energy in a broad sense is the source of many energy on Earth, such as wind energy, chemical energy, potential energy of water and so on.

Compared with clean energy such as wind power and nuclear power, the development of solar energy is still in its infancy in China. However, many regions and companies are very optimistic about the prospects of solar energy. In addition to central and eastern cities such as Jiangsu Wuxi and Jiangxi Xinyu, Shaanxi and Gansu in the west also regard optoelectronics as the leading industry in the future.
